How We Help
Building Relationships
That Give Families Room To Breathe.
We strive to move beyond the traditional support-worker relationship, building relationships that can grow into trusted mentorship, positive role models, and an extension of the family support system.

Unique Respite Services provides individualized one-on-one respite care for adults with autism and developmental disabilities that fosters growth, skill development, and participation.
From in-home respite to community outings, Saturday Socials, and special events,
we create support that fits the individual,
and Passport funding is accepted.

In-Home Respite
Support in the familiar surroundings of home, giving caregivers time to rest, attend appointments, run errands, or have some time for themselves.
Caregivers are chosen with the individual's skills, interests and personality in mind, with consistency maintained whenever possible.
"Our daughter brightens up when URS comes to spend the day. It gives her a change of pace and some friend time."
Community & Out-of-Home Respite
Support beyond the home can make it possible to pursue interests, attend appointments, participate in activities, explore the community, or simply enjoy a change of scenery.
Activities and level of support are shaped around the individual.

Virtual Respite
For individuals who cannot, or prefer not to, leave home, virtual respite can provide connection, companionship and meaningful activities from home.
Depending on the individual, this might include hobbies, art, music, storytime, homework, or simply spending time together.
Special Events
Sometimes support means making it possible to be part of the moments that matter.
Unique can provide support for events and activities such as birthdays, weddings, festivals, charity events, classes, and other community or cultural experiences.
Saturday Socials
Our Saturday Socials provide opportunities for individuals to spend time with peers, experience their community, and develop social and everyday life skills in a supportive setting.
These experiences can help build confidence, independence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.

Funding & Services Navigator
There is a lot to navigate.
Funding. Employment. Transportation. Services. Forms, applications, and documentation.
We have been helping families work through these systems for years, so we created a package to make it easier.
We help gather the information, organize the details and navigate the process, so you can spend less time figuring out the system and more time supporting your family.
